HDR Photography

1. What manipulations to the camera will you need to make to create an HDR image?
You will have to put the camera in auto exposure bracketing or change it's settings between each shot.

2. What equipment will we use to take this type of image?

You need a tripod to stabilize the image and make sure each picture is in the same place. You will also need a software that will blend multiple images.

3. What is the reason someone might take an HDR image?

If an image isn't coming out the way it actually looks in person taking multiple pictures at different exposures will allow you to blend them together to create an image more similar to what is actually seen in person.

4. What can we expect to happen with the images once we merge them together, what will we see that we might not have seen with just one photo?

The image would have better lighting and details that may not be visible in one of the darker images.

student of the month story

Ninth grader Michael secured this month's student of the month award after never giving up. His hard work and determination helped him win this award.

Michael's lowest grade is a 98 and he's never missed a class. He works diligently and efficiently to get the best grade possible.

School comes first for Michael as he's turned in every assignment ever given to him and he typically studies for two to three hours each night.

Although Michael hasn't always enjoyed school he does now and it shows.

Michael's favorite subject in school is math and favorite teacher at Bowie is his English teacher.

Michael family plays a very important role in his academic success as his brothers won the exact same award during their time at Bowie. Micheal worked hard and was driven by his brothers' previous success. For Michael, living up to his brothers' achievements took precedence over everything else.

After being presented with the award Micheal and his family went out to dinner and celebrated. Michael explained that his parents were very proud of his accomplishment.

"My parents expect me to be an A and B student and this year I exceeded their expectations."

"After I won the student of the month award me and family went to a nice dinner."

His family are also not the only ones with high expectations for Micheal. His friends are also very supportive.

"It's important to have friends that will support and not distract you from school work and what you're working towards.

Micheal has to find the right balance between his personal life with friends and family, his academic career at Bowie. Michael also plays in team sports at school which can be distracting for many student but for Michael it's important to have a challenge.

Michael will be in tenth grade next year which will make him a future leader for other students.

"I think my advice for future Bowie student would be to keep up with assignments and work persistently. If you don't understand something then get help. If you need support go to someone you can trust. Just do your best and don't give up."
